The World Academy of Tirana is an International school in the heart of Albania that offers the International Baccalaureate Curriculum. An IB pre-elementary class leads to the IB Primary Years Programme (5 – 11), while for the early years (9 months – 5 years) the curriculum is delivered through the Montessori method. It is anticipated that the whole IB programme, up to and including the internationally valued Diploma, will be introduced for those progressing to school leaving age at 18.

The school first welcomed pupils in 2008 as The International Montessori School of Tirana and in 2010 the The World Academy of Tirana was opened. Now known as The Academy the school is recognised for its wonderful balance of learning through discovery with academic rigour introduced gradually at the right age and stage. The Academy is the only International School in Tirana to offer an internationally recognised programme leading to a globally accepted qualification.

At the school children from numerous Embassies and NGO organisations mix naturally with Albanians to create a truly cosmopolitan mix, all speaking English. Support is available for non-English speaking children who join the school.

The school is exceptionally well resourced and offers a very targeted, focused education based around individual needs.
